What it is

Firefly is Adobe's image generation family, trained on Adobe Stock, openly licensed and public-domain content — deliberately avoiding the training-data lawsuits that shadow competitors. Adobe backs enterprise customers with IP indemnification: if a Firefly output triggers a claim, Adobe stands behind it.

What it is genuinely good at

• Commercially safe visuals. Marketing teams generate campaign imagery without asking legal first — the whole point.
• Editing superpowers in Photoshop. Generative fill/expand are Firefly under the hood: add a believable object, extend a background, remove a tourist.
• Brand consistency. Style presets and Adobe integration keep output on-brand in a way raw prompt roulette cannot.

Honest limitations

Aesthetics trail Midjourney at the artistic edge, and the credit system makes heavy use surprisingly expensive. For a businesses shipping AI visuals, though, "safe to publish" is usually the deciding feature.
