Claude is a conversational AI assistant made by Anthropic. Same shape as ChatGPT — chat, draft, analyze, search, code — with a personality that leans careful and measured.

What it is genuinely good at

• Long documents. Claude's large context window lets you drop in full reports, contracts or codebases and ask real questions across all of it.
• Writing quality. Prose that needs less editing — the default choice of many writers and editors.
• Nuanced analysis. Strong at "steelman both sides" and structured breakdowns of messy material.
• Safety posture. Anthropic leads on research into making models honest and hallucination-aware.

Honest limitations

Image generation and voice feel secondary; browsing and tooling differ by plan; and it hallucinates like every LLM — verify load-bearing facts. Anthropic publishes system cards documenting known failure modes, which is more transparency than most.

Free tier is genuinely usable with per-day limits. Pro unlocks higher caps, the strongest models and priority access. Teams add shared workspaces.
