What it is

Notion AI is the assistant built into the Notion workspace. Unlike a browser chatbot, it can read your workspace — pages, databases, project docs — which changes what AI is useful for: not "write me an essay" but "what did we agree on for this client last quarter?"

What it is genuinely good at

• Answers from your own notes. Workspace Q&A across pages and connected apps (Slack, Google Drive) — this is RAG over your company's memory, no setup required.
• In-place drafting and editing. Summarize a long meeting doc, rewrite update bullets, translate a page — without leaving the document.
• Database wrangling. Auto-fill properties and summarize entries across a project database.

Honest limitations

It only knows what is in your workspace — garbage notes in, garbage answers out. Pricing is a per-user add-on on top of Notion plans, which adds up for teams. And for general questions, a chatbot does the same job — Notion AI wins when the answer lives in your notes.
